Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know my assets are safe?

Your safety and security are our top priorities. We do not custody your assets within our firm. All assets we manage are held at trusted institutions like Charles Schwab or Fidelity Investments.

I do not live near one of your offices or am unable to meet in person. Are you still able to work with me?

Absolutely! We work with clients nationwide. If you can’t meet in person, we are very comfortable meeting virtually using the latest technology. Our virtual meeting tools are user-friendly, even for those who aren’t technologically savvy.

How do your fees work?

Most clients pay an Assets Under Management (AUM) fee, which is a percentage of the account value. Generally, the larger the account, the lower the percentage. This aligns our goals with yours—when you do better, we do better. In certain situations, we may offer a project-based or flat fee. All fees are agreed upon in writing and clearly explained beforehand.

What is your investment philosophy?

Our investment philosophy is centered on diversification, low cost, and tax efficiency in taxable accounts. We believe in starting with an appropriate risk/return balance and asset allocation strategy, tailored to your unique goals, values, time horizon, risk tolerance, tax situation, and other circumstances. We typically use a combination of ETFs, mutual funds, individual stocks, and alternatives based on client needs.

What types of clients do you typically work with?

We primarily work with individuals and families who are good earners and diligent savers. The most important trait we value in our clients is their openness to listening and implementing our financial guidance.

How often will we meet with our PacificView Wealth Management Advisor?

We can meet as often as it makes sense for you. At a minimum, we will conduct an annual review, but in most cases, we meet several times a year. We are also available for meetings whenever needed, such as during market volatility, major financial decisions, or life events (e.g., marriage, job change, birth of a new child, incoming inheritance, retirement). We also provide regular market updates and educational information through our client email newsletter.

Do you offer financial planning, and is there a fee?

Yes, financial planning is at the core of our interaction with clients. We use a robust computer service called eMoney to perform various planning functions and run different client scenarios. This helps us design, implement, and follow up on individualized plans for each client. Our fee includes this financial planning service.
